Project Proporsal

It seems very interesting to me how media has influence society in some many different ways. For example, people ways of thinking and consumption is based on what media has thought to them, specially when it comes to politics, education, gender, race, brand names, discrimination and violence among other topics. In fact, people are not only influence but manipulate by the media. Moreover, television and movies has stereotype gender and races so much that some people truly believe in stereotypes and inequality.

I also found this interesting article about women's discrimination in film  http://youtu.be/cCScoZ3CvKk.  There are many other topics that I would like to touch in a documentary about the impact of media in society. I may not talk deeply about each type of influence but I would like to mentioned it in my video, because it is important to understand this concept. I want to focus more in the influence of media in society.

  1. This will be a interesting topic to try and conquer for your semester project. The advancement in media has manipulated the way viewers see the world around us. This is important because the media controls the what we as a society. Therefore, our vision is warped and things we deem as right and suitable are not. Both women and men are objectified in the media; race is a constant issue when it comes to music, movies, etc.

  3. It is a great topic, but I would just warn to be careful not to take on the entire subject, but a part of the subject. If it is discrimination of women, that could even be narrowed down to perhaps age, ethnicity, body types, etc. Good luck, but don't bite off too much because it is a large topic.
